How to delete your data

Your quiz answers — nothing to delete

Answers are never sent to us. They are encoded into the part of a link after the # symbol, which browsers do not transmit to servers. Deleting them means deleting the link. We have no copy and never did.

Your uploaded photo — already gone

A photo uploaded for an illustrated card exists in memory for the length of one generation and is then discarded. There is no stored copy to delete.

The one exception is the pairing copy: if you sent an invite so a friend could join your card, an encrypted copy is held for up to 24 hours. We cannot read it — the key exists only inside the invite link — and it deletes itself when the time is up. To end it sooner, stop sharing the link; without the key the stored bytes are meaningless. If you want it removed immediately anyway, email us with your order reference and we will delete it.

Your saved results — clear them yourself

Go to knowuswell.com/account and use Clear my results. That empties both the copy in this browser and, if you are signed in, the copy stored against your account. Clearing your browser data removes the local copy on its own.

What is saved is only the four-letter codes and dates. Your answers were never saved — the code is what is left after scoring and cannot be reversed into what you tapped.

Your account — delete it yourself

If you created an optional account, sign in at knowuswell.com/account and use Delete account. That removes the account record and every linked login immediately, including your email address if you signed in with one. There is no waiting period and no confirmation email — the deletion happens the moment you confirm it.

What we hold for a social login is one one-way hash — not your username, not your profile. If you signed in by email, the address itself is stored so you can see which one you used and so support can find you. Deleting the account deletes all of it, address included.

Your purchase record — kept, and it has no personal data

A purchase record survives account deletion. It holds a remaining-generations count, a date, and the payment provider's order id. It contains no name, no email, no photo, and no answers. It is kept because it is what a refund or a chargeback would be checked against, and because deleting it would let the same purchase be claimed twice. It expires on its own exactly 30 days after purchase — that deadline is fixed when you buy and using the card does not extend it.

If you would rather we did it

Email support@knowuswell.com from any address and tell us what you want removed. If it concerns a purchase, include the order reference (it looks like KUW-A1B2C3D4 and appears on your account page and next to your remaining generations). We act on deletion requests within one business day and reply when it is done.

If you signed in by email at any point, writing from that address is enough — it is stored on your account, so we can find you by it. If you only ever used a social login, we hold nothing that links a name or address to an account, so the order reference is the one handle that works; it is worth saving.
